Ultimately my experiments didn't lead anywhere but man it was so fun testing it out. I also tried placing non-enzyme peepers into the tank to see if the non-enzyme peepers would pick it up from the ones that did carry it. I tried exposing them to different species of infected fish, I tried eating them raw to see if I could gain the enzyme (since it was said to carry it in its stomach, I thought perhaps cooking it was destroying the enzyme), I tried seeing if peeper babies or the babies of fish exposed to them would inherit any special properties. I was thinking perhaps I had to be proactive with curing the infection, so I started collecting enzyme peepers and dropping them into an aquarium with various permutations of infected critters to see what would happen. I actually did this about halfway through my first playthrough with no wiki assistance. Out of curiosity I put my glittering peeper in with the infected fish and they all healed! Neat! Scanning one gets this description of an Infected Specimen with Symptoms Inhibited.Īny other neat stuff you can think of to find/collect/do at end game? I also made 2 alien containments at my base, one with one of every healthy fish and the other with one of every fish but introduced one infected fish to spread to them all to look neat. Now I just need an entire aquarium full of them! Recently I've been finding fun things to do at end game (like using the temporary "dig" command to bore a tunnel with vertical pipe from my shallows base down into the jellyshroom caves, then onward down to the ILZ which I just completed), and went looking for more glittering peepers to see what I could do with them.įound one pretty quick in the swarm of peepers by an alien vent, and confirmed that they do still glitter when placed in an aquarium. Mostly I just thought it looked cool, so I noted it for later. I scanned it and read about it carrying Enzyme 42 to other creatures. So, I found a glittering peeper once long ago, but it was already dead (no idea what killed it, I found it drifting in a cave).
